Downtown/Alternative and Music

August 01 2012 to August 11 2012

511 W 54th Street
New York, NY 10019
212.489.9800

This year's festival builds upon Ars Nova's track record for presenting compelling new music and rising acts (Semi Precious Weapons, Langhorne Slim, The Lisps, Miracles of Modern Science and The Spring Standards are among the bands who've played shows at the venue early in their careers). The 54/10 Music Marathon launched in 2010 with performances by Jay Brannan, The Woes, The Defibulators and Cynthia Hopkins, while 2011 brought more great acts to the Ars Nova stage including: experimental pop wonder Unicornicopia; indie pop-rockers Clydesdale Erotic; Justin Levine (musical director/performer from Broadway's rock hit Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson); 7-piece jazz-rock band Great Caesar; indie pop outfits Thunder and Lightning and ARMS, both featuring former members of the Harlem Shakes
