On Friday, October 21st, Columbia Alumni Arts League presented the 2011 Alumni Artist Exhibit, as part of the Columbia Alumni Association's Innovation: Columbians Break Through panel and reception at Jazz at Lincoln Center.  The exhibit highlighted artistic vision and discovery -- the ability to see and uncover what's already there but unseen, or to envision what could be there.   The exhibit included works by:

UPRISE ART

Founded by Tze Chun '06CC, Uprise Art is a NYC art collectors club, offering exclusive access to exceptional art.  Uprise Art makes art collecting easy and enjoyable.

LU MAGNUS Art Laboratory + Salon

Co-founded by Amelia Abdullahsani '02GS, Lu Magnus is a salon-style gallery that seeks to expand upon the functions of a traditional art gallery.  As described by its founders, it is an art laboratory, an incubator for cross-collaborations between artists of different mediums and art forms: film, music, dance, fashion, and food. 

Opening in November 2011, Lu Magnus will present Explore Thyself -- the first solo exhibition of Jonathan Allen '97CC, whose works were included in the 2011 Alumni Artist Exhibit.  CAAL Members will be invited to explore the exhibit at a private upcoming CAAL Night event.
