_______________________ CAAL TESTIMONIALS "Alina Girshovich and the CAAL staff have been providing us with marvelous art experiences at MoMA with Director Glenn D. Lowry, School of the Arts Dean Carol Becker and creative artists; the Guggenheim Museum; and the New Museum, as well as art galleries in Chelsea and on 57th Street. They have been highlighting parts of town we thought we knew well, but they have been providing new experiences with special programs and opportunities to meet lots of artists and other creative people. The CAAL events are as delightful as champagne!" -Susan A. Gitelson, '63BC '66SIPA '70GSAS |

Thanks to a collaboration between Director/Producer Laura Pietropinto '00CC, Co-Producer Jillian Robbins, Musical Director Mark Hartman, David Milch and OSDA, Columbia University students had the unique opportunity to work alongside theatre professionals while workshopping College: The Musical. With expertise from Broadway and Off-Broadway musicals such as Next to Normal, Ave. Q, American Idiot, and Silence! The Musical, these professionals provided students with valuable mentorships in performance, writing, musical directing, directing, stage managing, and producing. Students were given the opportunity to perform as well as learn about how musicals are developed and how to work in a professional rehearsal room. Emphasis throughout this workshop was placed on the writing and development process, rather than a final production. Read more here. ___________________________ |
